Whanaungatanga~New Zealand

On my mind....
Thinking of friends and family in New Zealand and the people of Christchurch as they pull together after the devastating earthquake this week. New Zealand holds a special place in my heart having lived there these past few years. Kiwi's are the most wonderful and genuine people with amazing spirit. May they find the courage and strength to move forward at this difficult time. I have no doubt that whanaungatana will prevail...kinship and friendship, to work towards a common goal...to rebuild Christchurch.

These photos were taken during our stay near Lake Wanaka outside Queenstown, the heart of New Zealand's Southern Alps. A beautiful spot on New Zealand's South Island.

Images taken by me during our stay at River Run.

Whanaungatanga: Maori word for kinship; connecting as one people

  1. I recently finished a book where much of the action took place in NZ. It made it sound wonderful - and these photos prove it to be true. Gorgeous, Jeanne. Thanks for sharing!

  2. One of my favourite spots in the world, Jeanne. A thoughtful and moving sentiment, eloquently expressed. It's time Mother Nature took a Bex and had a good lie down. J x

PS Love the new header ☺.

  3. Such a gorgeous place...these pictures are so peaceful and lovely...it's hard to think something bad has happened over there. I think of your brave daughter too just now and hope all is well with her aid to this country.
Prayers for her, and Christchurch...thankyou for your prayers for my friend's grandbaby. Things are going well, prayers answered!!
