A friend recently asked if I would be interested in joining their scrapbooking group.
They meet weekly to chat, cut and paste.
I thought about sitting around and cutting up photographs
and pasting behind corresponding themed pieces of paper.
I mentioned that if it involved digital scrapbooking I would be quite keen
but anything beyond that would be an impossibility.
For one, I have 21,000 photos in my computer...
the thought of deciding which ones to print makes me break out in a cold sweat.
I then came across this article.
I clipped it last year and popped it in one of my journals for a rainy day.
Jessica Helfand has researched and written Scrapbooks: An American History.
She also has a blog http://www.thedailyscrapbook.com/
This all sounds very interesting but now I am now confused.
All these years (20) I have been writing, clipping, saving,
pasting all sorts of things in various journals.
So....am I writing in a journal or a scrapbook?
Journal: a daily record, as of occurrences, experiences or observations.
Scrapbook: a book with blank pages used for the mounting and preserving of pictures, clippings, or other mementos
Hmmmm....what do they call it when you do both in one place??
A journal scrapbook?
To much too consider on a Sunday evening.
In any event, I will have a look at this book as now I am intrigued....
